The Twelve Tribes of Israel
Many have been given the knowledge by the Lord as to what their tribal
lineage is, but many others long to know. Until I was asked what tribe of Israel I was a
part of I had never given it any thought. I am sure that most Christians fit into this
category. Since then I have learned that there are spiritual lessons to be learned from
all the tribes' blessings, regardless of your own particular tribal affiliation. I am talking of course about spiritual Israel and not natural Israel.
To be a natural descendent of one of the tribes you would naturally have to be of Jewish
descent. At least, this is what we have been led to believe, but the truth is that the
Tribe of Judah is where the reference to the Jews came from. Jacob was not a Jew and
Eleven of the Twelve Tribes were not Jews. It might surprise you to find out that most
caucasians are descendents of one of the Lost Tribes of Israel. Read also my article on The Lost Tribes of
Israel in which I go into great detail about the origin of caucasians. There is a spiritual Israel and anyone
who has named the name of Jesus has been born a spiritual Jew. ( Read Paul's writings in Romans 9)
I am talking, however, about the direct linage to each of the Tribes. In this study you will recognize the particular and peculiar position,
characteristics, and blessings of the individual tribes. In this recognition you may also
see your own position in a certain tribe, and if so wait on the Lord for further
clarification of it. Certain characteristics pertain to all Israel, but these will be far
more pronounced in some tribes than others. The key tribes of Israel are Joseph and
Benjamin and Judah. Of these three I want to start with Judah first and then Benjamin and
finally Joseph.
